Aubrey Logan | Steamers Jazz at JAX Friday Night Edition

One of our favorites, Aubrey Logan is returning to Campus JAX. Attending one Aubrey Logan's shows is like going to the carnival and buying a ticket to the house of mirrors—one never knows what is going to be just around the corner.

Jazz is the great leveler as an art form and one of today’s most brilliant contemporary jazz artists to bless us with her story, is Aubrey Logan.

A singer, trombone player and a songwriter, her body of work is underscored by the integrity of a performer that is able to stretch herself emotionally across a musical landscape that defies description. Complex and still retaining the intimacy of stories that are both personal and inspiring, Aubrey is able to bring a wealth of experience to her song writing that touches the deepest part of the human experience

Recognized on the global stage as a performer who can deliver in the most informal of settings and then to huge festival audiences, her work is praised as being accessible, fresh and dynamic. It shines a light on an artform that can at times appear exclusive and hard to connect with. Aubrey certainly flips that narrative on its head and allows the music to bask in the sunlight; introducing new generations of listeners to her world of sophisticated songs. With a number one album ‘Where the Sunshine is Expensive’ already under her belt, Aubrey returns to the spotlight with her follow up collection, STANDARD.

Kenny Metcalf as Elton & The Early Years Band

“Elton” as portrayed by Kenny Metcalf, has the voice and appearance of Elton John when he was young. From rhinestones to sequins, every detail has been meticulously recreated. Iconic costumes including the infamous Los Angeles Dodgers uniform designed by Bob Mackie and glasses (created for Elton himself) by Ray Winston finish the illusion.

Those fortunate enough to have seen Elton perform live experience a sense of “Deja Vu” while watching the captivating performance given by Kenny. Audiences and critics alike leave with a sense that they “saw” Elton and his band.

Caleb Quaye states that "witnessing this performance is like re-living infamous shows such as the Dodger Stadium show in 1975 where I (Caleb) performed with Elton. Being on stage with Kenny Metcalf was surreal!"

Elton John has been a powerful name in music for more than 40 years. He is currently enjoying another wave of popularity. Now, more than ever there is demand and desire to step back in time and experience the sights and sounds of this amazing artist. In tribute to his greatness, Kenny Metcalf and his band deliver.

The entire cast of Kenny Metcalf as Elton & The Early Years Band skillfully re-capture the original album sounds in live concert settings, delivering a complete audio/visual experience that is guaranteed to amaze any audience.

RagDolls - Aerosmith All-Female Tribute Band

Rising quickly through the tribute ranks, RagDolls has garnered the type of critical acclaim - in the span of a single year - that takes most bands years to achieve. Delivering energetic and powerful performances, RagDolls dig deep into the soul of America’s greatest rock and roll band. If imitation is the greatest form of flattery, then it is blatantly clear that these women capture the essence of Aerosmith out of a love for the music and its energy. Their ultimate goal: to leave audiences feeling like they’ve experienced the real thing.

Soaring over the solid bedrock laid down by the band, Susie Major channels Steven Tyler’s bluesy tone and vocal acrobatics with soul and dynamics, while Ali Handal recreates Joe Perry’s signature leads with stunning accuracy and style. Supported by Masha McSorley steadily keeping the groove going on rhythm guitar, Tara Rae holding the bottom strong on bass and Marisa Testa driving the band mercilessly on drums. RagDolls has painstakingly crafted a live experience that matches Aerosmith’s look, sound and energy with no holds barred.

Aerosmith has been one of the world’s leading rock bands for decades. From the early days of rock anthems like Dream On, Walk This Way, and Sweet Emotion to the MTV era hits such as I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing, Janie’s Got a Gun, Cryin’ and Love in an Elevator, Aerosmith has dominated the airwaves and stages all over the globe.

Come and get your wings with RagDolls.

PettyBreakers

“The World’s Greatest Tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers!”
So say Katie Daryl, Mark Cuban and Ryan Seacrest of AXS-TV as they selected the PettyBreakers to perform on their hit TV show in 2014.

What started out in 2010 as a regional band is now the Nation’s #1 touring tribute to Tom Petty. The PettyBreakers has played in 22 states and Washington D.C. with more being added constantly. Having performed at many cool clubs, theaters and festivals, one of the highlights so far was performing at the Naval Yard in Washington D.C. in 2018 for Major League Baseball’s Allstars Pregame Celebration. Another highlight was performing a four and half month residency in the Sammy Davis Showroom at Harrah’s Casino in Reno in 2017. And, yet another, was being selected in 2014 as “The World’s Greatest Tribute to Tom Petty” by AXS-TV. We performed a live show at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood to a capacity crowd, which was cablecast on AXS-TV.
